Sliced beef Pickle ginger
Japanese rice  
   

Gyudon is simmered thin sliced beef and onion over the rice.
Gyu means beef, and Don is short for donburi that rice bowl.
It is very popular Donburi dish in Japan.

 Directions:

  
 
Cook the rice.
Buy ShabuShabu style beef at Japanese grocery store.
or slice the beef thin.
Slice onion into slivers 4-6mm thick.
Mix all the Recipe's condiments in a bowl, set aside.
Sauté the beef and onion with vegetable oil.
Add Recipe's condiments and cook over high heat.
Skim fat from surface. Cook over medium heat until onion is done.
Put the cooked beef and onion over the rice.
Garnish with pickled ginger (Beni-syouga) to serve.
